Mike M: Can you try this again with the current version and send us an email if it's still not working for you?

dmo: Could you elaborate a bit on the behavior you see from the media library? Are you saying that it can see your artist and and track information, but doesn't seem to be processing genres properly?

tedco: I'm thinking of having the Mac server interface minimized to an icon in the menu bar, do you think this would work out better for you?

JB: Proper documentation is coming in the next update, but here's the rundown on how the queue works:

All music items display a "+" icon on the right side of the screen. Tapping this for group items (artists, albums, etc.) brings up an option to play the collection immediately or add it to the end of the queue. Tapping on the name of the collection will navigate into it as before.

Single tracks also display the "+" icon, but in this case pressing the icon will immediately add the track to the queue and the icon will grey out similar to using the On-The-Go playlist in the iPod application. Tapping on the name of the track will immediately start playing it.

nofixedadderess: As long as the iPhone is on the same network as the computers then Signal should work - all it requires is network connectivity and the address of the computer running the Signal application. If you mean that the two computers are using a point-to-point wireless connection (no hub or router) then I don't believe it's possible for the iPhone or any other device to join the network.

Jasonian: There is some experimentation being done with a native app to see how it compares to the web interface. I'll post an update here if it turns out to have significant improvements over the web version.

I also would like to know how the queuing works. I'm on a PC with iPhone.

Now that jailbreaking can be done by pretty much anyone via GUI, it would be incredibly amazing for Signal to be made into a 3rd party app version.

How does the thing work if you two or more computers with iTunes setup in both

a) with the computers not networked

b) with them sharing a wireless network

How does the Queue work?
I have no clue how to get it started how to add songs to the queue, can i queue playlists or just songs. Please Help.

By the Way. Great Program, My whole house is wired for sound the house is 4,000 sq ft trying to control the sound from one or 2 locations was insane. But you can imagine with this i just pull out my iphone and depending on my mood i can play whatever playlist or artist or album i want any where in the house and with a strong router i can even do it while im outside the home. Brilliant.

Also just so everyone knows i am using 2 apple airport express in order to play both systems in my home at the same time. Friends and Family were amazed.

Any thought of making a .tapp for iPhone Remote? (telekinesis)

Secondly, it would be nice to have a minimize button on the screen that tells you how to access it.

Thanks,

I really like this software but I'm having trouble getting it to see my genres. Also I wish there was a quicker way to navigate through the music, I have over 10,000 songs in iTunes (although if I could the genre to work that would help).

I baught Siignal 2 weeks ago and it works great on my pc running winXP. Last week i decided to put it on an old laptop i converted to a digital picture frame at my work office. I thought it would be cool if we could all listen and control the music. I installed itunes and signal on the machine, but it doesn't seem to work. Signal runs and the client connects to it, but the library does not show up. I tried making new playlists, but still nothing. However if I play a song in itunes, the signal client shows a song playing, although i cannot skip ahead to the next. the machine is running the latest version of itunes and Windows 2000. Any thoughts?? Thanks

meltdown, greg: I responded to your support emails, let's see if we can work the issue out in those threads.

DenverEagle, Adrian: The Windows version of the server does support shared libraries, I will definitely look into adding support for this in the Mac server for the next update.

I'm having the exact same problems as meltdown. The only difference being that I'm on a G4 powerbook and not a macbook pro. I'm a little disapointed because I paid for a full version and it still works like the trial version. I guess I've thrown $30 away on worse things before but Im still a little bummed.

I purchased the full version and it works well. It would be great if you could also access shared libraries, as I have a mix of machines all sharing.
