Signal 1.1.2

Signal 1.1.2 is now available, and is a bug fix release addressing a compatibility issue with Safari 3.1.1 as well resolving a few other minor issues:

  • Hidden iTunes playlists are no longer displayed within the media library
  • Selecting speakers with a CD selected in the iTunes window now works
  • Fixed playlist sorting to sort playlists starting with lower-case characters properly
In addition, for Windows users the automatic iTunes library updating feature was improved to eliminate some needless library rescans, improving performance for users with large libraries. Mac users will be receiving automatic library updates as well starting with Signal 1.2.

Thanks for the update! This is still the coolest piece of software ive ever bought for my mac.

Any chance of seeing Airfoil support soon? I’ve tried the itunes speakers and while it works okay, the synchronization is not nearly as _perfect_ as airfoil’s. Also, i have several computers which simply acts as ’speakers’ in the house.

I’d be soooo happy if airfoil integration was available in signal. I think they use applescript for everything, so that shouldn’t be too hard to code, right? Pleaseeeee!!!

Lee Liu: Still haven’t forgotten :-) It is on the list, but I can’t say exactly when it might go in - there is a lot on the list!

Unable to remotely control volume when used with winamp on pc - any suggestions?

  4. Sean Conery Says:

Update to above winamp comment: Signal does move volume slider in winamp, however, the winamp volume slider has no affect on volume on this pc. This appears to be a winamp/pc problem and not a Signal problem.

yes I agree with Lee Liu, I have a great wifi network in my house including airport express connection to my tivoli clock radio. It would be great to have signal control of airfoil so that I don’t have to get out of bed to change internet radio stations !!

I have installed Signal Server on Mac OS X Leopard and Signal Client on Windows Mobile 6 Professional on my HTC Touch. I can connet my HTC Touch with Signal Server via Internet Explorer Mobile, but via Signal Client, I can´t. The connection progress bar stays quiet and nothing happens. I put the same address in Signal Client that in Internet Explorer Mobile.

I don´t know what i´m missing… Thanks for the program and for the help!!

    Dámaso.

When connecting through the Pocket PC client, the easiest method is to select the auto-discover option and allow the PPC to find Signal running on your computer automatically. If that doesn’t work, you can try manually entering the IP address for your system. Note that for the PPC client this is the IP alone, so if the web address shows:

    http://192.168.1.2:3569/

You would enter just 192.168.1.2 into the Pocket PC client’s connect field.
